    We parked at the main park entrance visitor’s center and took a bus into lower town, about 1.6 miles away. The park ranger suggested a 2 mile loop to us that took us through the historic town and onto a portion on the AT.

    While surveying the area in 1770, George Washington declared the point of land between the two rivers “a pleasant point”. The town still has a nice vibe and friendly people, despite becoming the Mothman’s hometown. We enjoyed walking along the river, where we admired their mural, and around the downtown area.
