Day 138: Touring Harpers Ferry
We parked at the main park entrance visitor’s center and took a bus into lower town, about 1.6 miles away. The park ranger suggested a 2 mile loop to us that took us through the historic town and onto a portion on the AT.

Day 119: We saw the Mothman
While surveying the area in 1770, George Washington declared the point of land between the two rivers “a pleasant point”. The town still has a nice vibe and friendly people, despite becoming the Mothman’s hometown. We enjoyed walking along the river, where we admired their mural, and around the downtown area.

Day 102: Beavers and Bears
Today we’re visiting Dolly Sods Wilderness, part of the National Wilderness Preservation System. Its 17,371 acres contain bog and heath eco-types, more commonly typical to southern Canada and is an almost legendary destination among nature lovers and hikers.

Today we’ll visit 2 highest points, learn some dark history, and visit a surprisingly cute, art filled town in West Virginia.

Day 67: A Day Back in Time
What a day! Today we hiked to see old mining ruins and completed our most challenging stair climb yet. Then we drove driving through time in the beautiful blue ridge mountains.
