Upper Sols Creek Falls (60′ falls), Tuckasegee, NC. 0.4 out and back

Google maps will take you to where you can park on the side of the road. There’s no sign for a trail head. Go straight down the dirt path and you ll start to see pink markers and ropes. All Trails calls this trail moderately difficult and says it takes about 20 min. to do the whole trail. I would call it difficult and say that it took us 20 min. just to get down and across to the waterfall. Its so steep we had to use the ropes, branches, roots and trekking poles to get down. Getting back up was even harder. The falls are spectacular and totally worth the entire adventure.
