We hiked Slickrock Falls to Looking Glass Rock Trail (1.4 mile total out and back, 629’ elevation). Slick Rock Falls are about 200’ up the trail. From there you can hike on to the base of Looking Glass Rock, a huge rock face. It rained the night before we went and all along the rock face water was cascading down, sparkling in the bright sun. Most of the trail is a steady up along a stream, through green tunnels of rhododendrons. The last part to the base is a full on scramble up a rock slide. Very fun, unique trail.

We took Route 215 North from Rosman towards Woodman. This road is an absolute Gem. As you get near the Blue Ridge Parkway the views become huge. Definitely stop at Courthouse Valley Overlook, elevation 5362’. During this drive the temperature dropped more than 25F. There are several spectacular waterfalls a little further down the road with pull offs. We climbed down to spend time at Bubbling Spring Falls and pulled over to admire Sunburst Falls.

We got takeout to bring back to the hotel from Guadalupe Cafe, farm to table is a tropical fusion eatery, locally sourced & deliciously quirky. We had very unique tacos with plantains and a delicious chocolate orange cheesecake.
