Blackwater River State Park, Milton, FL
($4/car). We walked down to the “River/Beach” area, a big sand bar along the river, which seems to be the main area a family might spend the day with grills and bathrooms available. It’s a little odd to be on a white sand beach we no sea shells. We then went back to the entrance to park and walk the Chain of Lakes Trail (1.5 mile loop, 29’ elevation) This trail starts along the river with white sand under foot, passes some oxbow ponds with very roots footing and ends through a forest of longleaf pine and turkey oaks.

Blackwater River State Forest, Bone Creek Recreation Area, FL
We walked the Bone Creek Interpretive Loop (1.3 miles). Most interpretive trails have educational opportunities along the trail but this one doesn’t. It was still a nice trail to do in the rain, with nice soft pine and sand footing, pretty views of the pond and the air smelled nice.

Mobile Japanese Garden
A city park. I did like seeing the big Koi fish in the pond.
