The Big Chair, Thomasville, NC, erected in honor of the town’s biggest business, furniture. They also have several painted pianos around town. Our favorite was the one outside the ice cream and stuffed milkshake shop.

We also visited The World’s Largest Chest Of Drawers (actually the facade of a building) in High Point, NC just a few minutes up the road the big chair. High Point claims to be the furniture capital of the world and by the looks of the downtown I’d say it could well be – all the buildings were furniture companies, some impressively posh looking.
