We went into Assateague Island National Seashore, MD to look for them
$25/day fee, valid for 7 days. This is where the ponies still roam free. We were told they like hanging out along the road that divides the marsh from the beach. We came across several ponies along the road driving in.We parked and walked some short trails and went to the beach to look for more ponies but didn’t see any until we were back in the state park area along the road again.

We went into the Assateague State Park, MD
$5/day fee. We ate lunch on the beach, saw a few dolphins and found 3 more ponies in the parking lot. One pony was quite lame and a park Ranger explained that she had been in a hit and run accident in the park – so PLEASE be careful driving in, it’s the ponies home and they may not understand that they need get out of your way.

We drove to Cape Henlopen State Park, DE
$5/in state, $10/out of state day fee. We walked along the beach and then went to the point to see the lighthouse and walk in the water.

We stayed at the Beach View Hotel, Rehoboth Beach, DE
$96/night, a very nice hotel with a bit of a nostalgic feel, and had dinner from the Fresh Market by the pool.

After dinner we went for a walk along the boardwalk and around the shopping area
To end the night we had Banana Pudding Ice Cream (banana with marshmallow swirl and vanilla wafer cookie – delicious!) from the Ice Cream Store.
