Day 140: America’s Hometown

time of year

Today we’re in Cooperstown, NY to visit a friend. We walked through town, got sandwiches and sat at a park along Otsego Lake and then at the beautiful historic Otsego Hotel and caught up. Nicknamed “America’s hometown”, Cooperstown has small-town charm, breweries, bakeries, art and world-class attractions including the National Baseball Hall of Fame & Museum. The baseball hall of fame really wants you to have a good time – they have several friendly people stationed outside ready to welcome you, take your family’s picture, and hold the door open for you to go inside.

Vernon Downs Casino Hotel, Vernon, NY

Nestled in the beautiful rolling hills of Central New York, Vernon Downs Casino Hotel offers a long running history of fast paced Harness Racing.

I (Vanessa) have a friend who trains here and will be racing tomorrow night. We’re here to visit and cheer him on.
