Day 126: Shipshewana

Spring

time of year

Pisgah Marsh Boardwalk and Golden Eagle Viewing Deck, North Webster, IN. We didn’t see any eagles but it was a lovely walk through the birdsong in a beautiful marsh. The boardwalk was built on an Esker, a raised ridge formed by sun-glacial streams that left deposits of dirt and gravel where they flowed.

Shipshewana, Newbury Township, IN, a bustling Amish town. This place is so much better than Lancaster, PA. We watched the horse auction, window shopped, ate blueberry handpies and picking up a slice of butterscotch pie to sit for dessert tonight. There are horse farms and carriages driving around everywhere.
